Costa del Sol

Costa del Sol

The Costa del Sol has a different character to the other Spanish Costas and benefits from a very extensive daily schedule of flights serving both Malaga and Gibraltar airports. They are located at either end of the Costa del Sol, so your property is unlikely to be more than an hour from either Malaga or Gibraltar.

This part of the Costa del Sol from Marbella down to Sotogrande is regarded by many as the jewel of the coast. Some would say the “Costa del Golf” based on the number of top quality golf courses in the area allowing visitors to stay for a week and play at least one different golf course every day. The character of each area is different covering the extremes. For example, if you are a celebrity who wants to be seen visit Puerto Banus to appear in the news next morning, but if you want to retain your privacy you are better to visit Sotogrande! Both have an air of exclusivity so the choice is yours.

Marbella is arguably the most famous town on the coast and a focal point for many. Residents and visitors enjoy a high standard of properties and the lifestyle and infrastructure is equal to many towns in Northern Europe, but with more guaranteed sunshine throughout the year! All types of property are available from holiday apartments up to mansions featured on TV programmes and owned by the likes of Simon Cowell, whose luxury villa has been featured on X Factor judges houses.

Puerto Banus is the marina which attracts yachts of all sizes. Those which hit the headlines are owned or chartered by the rich and famous. Situated to the south of Marbella centre, both attract residents and visitors alike who come to watch the yachts and the people as well as enjoy the shopping in El Corte Ingles and the special boutiques and shops surrounding the marina. This is also a great place to find a restaurant, either for a coffee, some tapas or a fine dining experience. The luxury apartments in this area command a premium but if this area appeals to you we can find you something to suit your taste and budget, so let us know what you are looking for. Villas and townhouses are also available on the coast or in the hills behind Marbella and Puerto Banus and we have a good selection to show you.

San Pedro de Alcantara is another few kilometres further on and offers more of a working Spanish town, but with a good mix of expat residents and visitors too. The proximity to Puerto Banus means all those facilities are nearby but property prices can be more reasonable here.

Estepona, situated on the Costa del Sol is very much a Spanish town, retaining its traditional Spanish character yet balancing well with an expat population living there year round. The summer brings tourists from all over the world to enjoy the blue flag beaches, many golf courses, water sports along the Costa del Sol and beautiful Andalucian heritage and countryside.

Estepona town has been beautified over the past few years, adding many plants and flowers in brightly coloured pots throughout the town and pedestrianising many of the roads with traditional cobbles to manage the traffic and retain the character. The increasing number of discerning travellers looking for a special apartment or villa are looking in Estepona, so the buying and rental markets are buoyant and healthy.

The area around Estepona borders Marbella so all the bright lights of Puerto Banus are close by, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds. Many world class golf courses are in the area, including so the large selection of villas and apartments to rent in Estepona make this can ideal base for all activities.
