Renting a Property
Renting a property in Petworth or anywhere in the UK can seem complicated
with numerous checks of ID, credit and referencing required. We try to make it as easy as possible.
Firstly Harrison Bridger acts for the landlord but we also have a duty of care to our tenants. So we aim to help and advise both parties.
A well run rented home is the best way.
The normal procedure will follow is set out below:
Prepare details and display on our Website, the Portals and other Social Media.
Have a initial period of two weeks where people can view and ask questions, register their interest and complete an application form for referencing purposes.
All interested parties are discussed between Harrison Bridger & the Landlord.
Once the landlord has agreed that he is happy with you as tenants:
A holding deposit of £200 (NO VAT) will be required, we will then stop viewings until the referencing has completed.
The referencing cost will be:
£110 + VAT for a single person.
£175 + VAT for 2 tenants signing the lease
£250 + VAT for 3 tenants signing the lease.
Admin charge of £60 + VAT.
None of the above are refundable as all incur costs.
We will also require:
A letter from your employers.
2 months bank statements.
Passport or driving licence copy (can be done in our office).
Utility bill of some description with the name of one the persons who will be registered on the lease.
A deposit equivalent to 6 weeks’ rental, held within the D.P.S. (sometimes on newly refurbished or properties of high value a higher deposit may be required)
1 months rent in advance
- We can take referencing, deposits and rent by Cheque, Bank Transfer, Cash, Debit or Credit Cards by pre-arrangement* & Pay Pal*
- * Will incur a 2.4% charge
